IHPN Officers

 

Beverly Burks is the President of IHPNetwork, Inc. and has held Senior Executive Sales positions at MediSave, CompuPharm, Vitalink, and NeighborCare pharmacies, leading teams on a national level. She also served as Vice President of Outside Sales for MHA, a national group purchasing organization, having responsibility for all outside sales throughout the United States. Bev attributes her success to knowing the business, having a good understanding of customers, meeting their needs, and a commitment to providing the highest quality of service in the industry. These qualities come from the strong influence of her family in building a family owned and operated long term care pharmacy in Virginia. This business was built from the ground up through providing excellent and caring day to day service to customers.

 

Darren Zito currently serves as IHPN's Executive Vice President responsible for the development and implementation of new products and services. With over 20  years experience in the pharmacy services and GPO industry, applying a strong expertise in data-driven, long-term strategic planning, pharmacy management, Darren brings a unique set of skills to the IHPN group.

Prior to joining IHPN, Darren was a vice president for Armada Healthcare, a start up specialty pharmacy group purchasing organization, where he led corporate business development and contracting. Darren was employed at MHA, Inc. for over 10 years and as a vice president was responsible for overseeing the new product development and data analytics team. He managed a diverse project portfolio, including market analysis studies, rebate analytics, product feasibility profiles, and was responsible for the creation of unique tools still used in the market today. Darren has held several positions as a professional pharmacist, has several years experience in pharmacy management, and recently was responsible for operating a closed door pharmacy servicing LTAC, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Facility patients.

Darren is a registered pharmacist in NJ and a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (USP). He also served as president of Kappa Psi, a professional pharmacy fraternity, and in 1994 earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University.

 

John Tran serves as Chief Financial Officer of IHPN and is one of its core members. John's expertise is in combining operational and financial management, growing business by promoting technologic innovations and customer service. John's goal for IHPN is to create and leverage IHPN's value and programs to a competitive advantage in the long term care arena, thus bringing benefits and a competitive edge to its' members' businesses.

Currently, John is the President and CFO of Premier LTC Pharmacy; as well, he is owner and CFO of several financial and real estate companies. John has also served as a board member for nonprofit and financial companies. John has had experience in the  pharmacy and the long term care industry for over 30 years, and plans to utilize his experiences to benefit IHPN and it members.

 

Pam McDonald serves as Vice President of  Member Services for IHPN and has been part of the management team since 2005. Prior to joining IHPN, Pam has over 26 years experience in the drug wholesaler industry. Key management responsibilities included wholesaler drug pricing, customer account set-up and pricing plans, generic programs and pricing, GPO contracts and chargebacks, customer service and accounts receivables. Pam's extensive knowledge gained through her employment in the wholesale drug industry has been leveraged to the benefit of the IHPN members to bring substantial cost savings.

Pam's current responsibilities with IHPN include New Member Enrollment, Drug Wholesaler RFP Negotiations, Wholesaler Drug Pricing Analysis and Audits, Quarterly Review of Wholesaler Agreements for Members' Cost of Goods and Generic Rebates, Member Liaison for New Products and Services, Administrator of the IHPNetwork Website and IHPN Customer Service.



Edward W. McArdle
joined IHPN in May, 2010, as a consultant in the contracting department. Ed has thirty years professional experience with the healthcare sector. For the past ten years Ed has been working in "Group Purchasing" as COO and VP of Operations for Armada Health Care and Managed Health Care respectively. Ed has worked predominantly in the Long Term Care industry with the major pharmacy distributors APS, Gran Care, Vitalink and NeighborCare. In addition, he has experience in working directly with state and federal agencies as a Contract Administrator, administering both the Medicare and Medicaid programs at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NJ. Ed has a BS in Economics and Marketing as well as a MBA in Management & Accounting from Manhattan College.

 

Michael K. Grady, M.D., MBA serves as Medical Director for IHPN. Dr. Grady has the distinct background of being a physician and pharmacist with a Master's in Business Administration. Dr. Grady began his career as a pharmacist with extensive retail experience. After obtaining his M.D. degree, he completed a residency in internal medicine, and currently is board certified in internal medicine and a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Grady has diverse career experience in clinical medicine, hospital management, managed care, business administration, and pharmacy management. Dr. Grady spent 10 years in the managed care industry holding various positions such as Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs, Medical Director, and Director of Medical and Pharmacy Management. Dr. Grady held positions with Fortune 500 companies such as Aetna and Healthnet and also was medical director for two Medicaid managed care plan start up ventures in the New York City metropolitan area.

While in the managed care industry, Dr. Grady created and/or participated in many cost containment strategies in pharmacy management. They include but are not limited to the creation of a pharmacy case management program, developed re-pricing strategies for oncology and other high priced drugs re-establishing reimbursement methodologies from AWP to "acquisition based pricing", developed provider drug utilization report cards, oversaw pharmacy audits, developed clinical drug guidelines, led P & T  Committees, developed drug formularies, and established a physician site visit program to review drug utilization data with physician outliers.

Dr. Grady has extensive long term care experience. He has served as Chairman of the Board for a skilled nursing facility, and currently is a medical director for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). In the managed care industry, Dr. Grady was responsible for utilization oversight for contracted SNF's and developed contracting strategies for SNF's.

Additionally, Dr. Grady served for 7 years as a hospital vice president for medical affairs and clinical business development. 

 

 

Mr. R. Taylor Lee joined IHP Network, Inc. on January 1, 2011 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and brings an extensive resume to the management team of IHPN, which includes nearly 20 years of a progressive leadership climb in operations management, public relations, sales, and marketing. 

Lee started his professional career at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Life Center as a Health Educator after graduating from the College of Charleston with a degree in Sports Medicine.  While earning his Master of Business Administration degree from The College of William & Mary’s Mason School of Business, Mr. Lee had the privilege of working at DELL Computer’s Corporate Headquarters outside Austin, Texas.  Upon graduation from B-school, Lee consulted for American Management Systems (AMS) as a Senior Business Systems Consultant with the technology consulting firm’s Health Claims Practice.  Following his success at AMS, Lee worked with Merrill Lynch & Co. within the financial management firm’s U.S. Private Client Group.  Throughout several years with Merrill Lynch, he built a multi-million dollar book of business and earned his professional designation of Certified Financial Manager (CFM) from the Donald T. Regan School of Advanced Financial Management in Princeton, NJ.  Subsequently, Mr. Lee checked his leadership and business skills in professional hockey as he directed the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays as the team’s President and CEO through four seasons.  For the last several years until the end of 2010 Mr. Lee directed and operated two separate urgent and primary care medical facilities as CEO; the last three years Lee successfully developed, opened, and operated an 8,500 sq. ft., 16-room medical facility he co-owned.  Ultimately, he negotiated the sale of the business in late 2010.  Mr. Lee’s broad and extensive experience will serve IHPN and our membership well in the years to come. 

Lee resides in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with his wife Anne and two daughters.
